Well if he does return to Pyke, he'll be dead next season when the White Walkers fly over with their dragon and burn him to hell.

That's actually a snart decision. I hate how every character that gets no story must die. Just look at Blackfish in season 6. It is very logical that characters could be alive offscreen, but nooo, if he gets no story he must die. That's just stupid writing.
