Should they make a Metroid 2 Remake?

I think they should remake Metroid 2 I mean they did it to Metroid Zero Mission. M2 Remake would be much cooler if it had the same graphics like MZM or Super Metroid, more enemies more bosses more Metroids. Plus make the Metroid Queen a lot harder with a new energy mouth blast atack like that boss from Shinobi 3 in the swears and that Big Mutated Turtle Thing in Contra 3. Make it chalenging but not too hard. Also make it longer than MZM so it last longer. I really hope Nintendo Reconsiders the Idea for Metroid 2 Remake.

Yes. Nintendo seriously needs to remake Metroid II seeing how well Zero Mission was done. It's the only Metroid game I haven't played.

I would like to see re-releases of Metroid Prime and Echoes for Wii, but with the control system from Corruption. They would have to tweak the controls slightly to enable the Beam select but I'm sure it could be done. The original Metroid Prime is now (arguably) considered a classic, so I'm surprised that Nintendo haven't done this already.

Since the GC discs only hold 1.5 GB they could even fit both games onto a single Wii disc...

A Wii version of both MP and MP2:E have been made and released in Japan. According to this article (http://wii.ign.com/articles/955/955965p1.html) button config is the same as in MP3:C, and both beam selection/firing missiles are said to be done with the D-pad.

A bit strange, because firing missiles was done by pressing D-pad down in MP3:C; this would leave only three buttons on the D-pad, not enough to assign one for each of the 4 beam weapons. This would mean that you'd probably have to cycle through the weapons, as opposed to direct selection with the C-stick in the GC version. Strange, because they had purposefully avoided cycling through weapons in MP3:C, opting for a stackable weapon upgrade system. Did they change their minds? I would think that, as MP and MP2:C don't feature the Hypermode, they could have used the +button on the Wiimote for weapon selection in the same way you use the -button to select visors.

We'll have to wait for the US and European release to see how the system works, but it will probably not be a major problem.

This fan-made game called Metroid: SR-388 that they're currenty working on, isn't that meant to be something of a Metroid 2 remake?
