Anyone else think this game was....

way too easy? The bosses especially. Definitely disappointed. It was still a fun game, but I feel Retro Studios, instead of making a great, challenging game, they decided to "dumb it down" to make it more wii-friendly.

Definately easier than the first two.

I dunno - there were some parts that were a little bit challenging especially some of the bosses. They weren't *terribly* hard, but some were a bit tricky at times (an example being the ones you'd have to use a grapple on and it wouldn't catch right away, so you'd have to plug away at the boss and do it again).

Elysia got a bit confusing at one point. There was a time I had to go back to my ship and I got lost - because the area I was in was like a maze. I used the map and that helped a little bit. I also didn't like when the Aurora Unit or Admiral Dane would send messages to Samus and you'd see it at the bottom of the screen. That was really distracting. I just wanted to get on with game.

try playing the game on hyper mode
newb
the only part of the game that i thought was a bit too easy though was the last 3 battles with dark samus and the aurora unit (both phases)
i mean like dark samus is supposed to be the ultimate evil and yet she was still very easy to beat
and the aurora unit was really easy also if you just dodged all of its attacks

and also helios (almost forgot)
yeah he was way too easy also
but omega ridley took me forever to beat
and i loved the mogenar fight cause when you beat him you get to see Samus puke!

yeah well
whatever

reply

Yeah, the second Ridley fight took me a long time after he protected his chest with the phazite plating, simply because I couldn't figure out how to beat him. Then I used the X-Ray scope.

"the aurora unit was really easy also if you just dodged all of its attacks"

Hmm, I guess any boss in any game ever is really easy if you just dodge all of its attacks.

Having said that I'm about halfway through on Veteran and haven't found it terribly hard so far, although Helios gave me a bit of a kicking after I'd exposed its core. To a certain extent, though, you can make the game harder for yourself if you are inaccurate when using Hypermode, because you're just wasting energy without damaging the enemy. Of course, if the game doesn't reward you with any health pick-ups after destroying something using Hypermode then that's just plain hard.

One bit of the game that annoyed me was trying to knock out one of the shield generators on Bryyo - the one where the flying pirates keep releasing the locking mechanisms that you have to pull with the grapple beam. That got a bit frustrating.

What the OP should do is play Metroid Prime 2 Echos before Metroid Prime 3 Corruption. That game was hella hard! Then after he plays it he'll see why Nintendo made Prime 3 a little easy.

reply

Indeed. The Chykka fight is ridiculously hard.

Not only Bosses, but some regular enemies were hard too particularly the ones that pissed me off the most were those damn Glenchers, Hunter Ing, Dark Pirate Commandoes, and sometimes those Bloggs. Other Bosses that pissed me off were the Alpha Blogg, and Grapple Guardian.

The only reason why Metroid Prime 2 is so difficult is because of the continuous back and forth through the Dark and Light worlds. MP3 wasn't exactly easy for me though. Especially Mogenar. That dude took forever. Aurora 313 is no walk in the park either.
