I was interested in seeing this miniseries, and found it to be very disappointing. It couldn't hold my interest. So I was curious about what others thought and came to take a look here. I'm not surprised so few people have posted anything. I just thought the whole thing was sort of forced and very flat.
shareAgreed. I have a genuine interest in London music hall, even going so far as to write my History Honours paper on it!! While Jessie Wallace was great, felt really disappointed at just how 'flat' (perfect description from you.....) it all was. All that showing newspaper headlines etc rather than get to grips with the actual story. ....and the actual story is so good it is a mystery how it all went so Pete Tong. Peter Ackroyd's 'Dan Leno and the Limhouse Golem' (book) seems to capture what I imagine it was all like - cannot believe no one has made a film of that one.
