French or English?

I notice IMDB lists the movie's language as French and English. Which was it produced in, or does it contain both? I am getting the Blu-ray which has received some awesome reviews, but haven't seen it yet. The Blu-ray includes English and French language tracks, and optional English subtitles. Should it be watched in French with subtitles, or in English? Were the lips re-animated for English, or will they match up best in French? I'd like to see it as close to its original format as possible, which sounds like that would be French, unless a lot of work was done to make it acceptable in English as well. I normally don't do dubbing, just subtitles. However, the Blu-ray does have a higher quality audio track for English vs the French one. Is any dialogue messed up in translation to English? Thanks to anyone that can help. I should be receiving it soon and wanna be prepared to see it like it should be seen.

Well it's a French movie so I assume the lips were animated for French language.

I also want to see this movie so bad, but ONLY in the original language. I hate dubbing and I don't understand why the hell they do it for. Is there really so many ignorant people who can't watch foreign movies or are too stupid to read subtitles?

Where did you find the blu-ray? Does it have English subtitles for the French audio? Because if it does, that's the version I'd want.

Seller is crispmovies on ebay Came to about £11 & took 4 days delivery from usa to uk.
It has french & english DTS & french version has subs & is much better than dubbed english IMO.

I got my Region 1 DVD from Netflix. It has _only_ spoken English on it ...no subtitles, no alternate spoken languages, no options.

My impression is different "Region" DVDs are significantly different. (Animation freaks may wish to get a "region free" DVD player and obtain foreign DVDs [ebay.co.uk, amazon.co.uk, and ebay.co.jp are useful sources]. Any reasonable website will detect what you're doing and display a great big red warning to the effect "it won't work". You have to be sure enough about what you're doing to click on past the warning.)

In my opinion, "dubbing" has a deservedly very poor reputation in live action films. BUT in animation, a great quality dubbed soundtrack can actually _improve_ the watching experience. (Disney may have started this trend when they were so careful and exacting supplying new English soundtracks (and lyrics) for their Miyazake releases [they even re-performed the music from the original score].)
