Movies like this, and ending music?

Watched this gem when it first came out, and something compelled me to revisit it tonight and indeed I was as moved as I remembered I had been 5 years ago.

Beautiful movie, does anyone know of any similar ones that might be recommended to someone liking this movie, whom have little experience otherwise with Japanese movies except the seven samurai and very little anime.

Also, what style of music is it that started playing when the end credits started rolling, I want to hear more like it, any recommendations?
