rumble stats/stuff

True classic. Two of the all-time greatest icons of the WWF/WWE battle it out!!

Ric Flair draws #1 in the Royal Rumble for the 2nd time, but it's absolutely not 1992 (or even 1993). Finlay comes in at #2 and proceeds to hang in there for over a half hour impressively.

But Edge wins the Iron Man award for this one. It was the 2nd time in a 3-year span (he didn't compete in 2006) where he lasted over 40 minutes!!

Sadly, this would be the last rumble appearance for Chris Benoit (RIP). He does well, almost 18 minutes. He put together an amazing 4-year streak of performances & feats from 2004-2007, cementing him in the alltime top 5 of the Rumble greats.

The Great Khali comes in late, #28, and pulls a Kane from 2001, eliminating about 7-8 guys in rapid succession! But who should come out at #30 (gonnnnnnnnnnng!) It's the Undertaker! He gets rid of Khali after they battle it out a few minutes!

We're down to Orton, HBK, Undertaker, and Edge! HBK gets rid of both bad guys after sneaking back into the ring after an RKO by Orton, and again Edge another terrific performance. And now we're down to two!

'Taker and HBK have a spectacular mini-match before Shawn charges & tries the superkick, but UT dodges and grabs Shawn's legs and throws him over the top to FINALLY win what he so much deserved a long LONG time ago! Probably one of the best endings to any royal rumble match (personally I like 2001 the best.
