I'm confused about the very low ratings

I saw this movie and liked it. And while I understand that it's not for everyone, I was surprised about the very low rating. I looked up the voting and saw that a bunch of people gave the movie a 1. A 1? A 1 in my eyes is unwatchable, like "From Justin to Kelly" or "Glitter." I think anyone who gives this a 1 is a hater for some reason, the movie is certainly put together and watchable, and while I gave it an 8, I can't imagine it deserving less than a 3 or 4 just based on it's look and technical merit alone. Don't get me wrong, it's not "The Shawshank Redemption," but it's not "Glitter" either.

I gave it 5/10. Could have been better in so many areas, but wasn't a 1.

Look at the night sky, where does it end?

Its a shame that kids ruin the voting system with all the 1 and 10 votes instead of stepping back and rating things besides there own personal feelings toward the movie. Filming, Directing, Acting, and Plot should be every bit as important as personal feelings. I didnt care for the movies plot or the femenist overtones, but everything else aside it was watchable, had decent acting, and I can see where some people may like the plot so I rated it 5.
