I was NOT expecting that

As a hard core Labyrinth fan I was NOT expecting a Labyrinth spoof on this show. I don't even care for it. I left it on by chance and you can imagine my reaction when I saw tonight spoofing almost EVERYTHING about Labyrinth. I almost wet myself.

I was already a fan of the show from the first episode. In eight episodes so far they've managed to pay homage/parody Indiana Jones, Star Wars, Teen Wolf, There's Something About Mary, Dune and The Shining (and Flatliners, lol). "Boogie Baby, Boogie" is going to be hard to top. I've sent clips of this episode to all my naysayer friends who aren't willing to give FGSII a chance.
Even people who don't like Labyrinth (And yes, surprisingly enough there are a few out there) think this episode is hilarious. I've watched it at least twice a day since it premiered on the [adult swim] site on Friday.
Last episode premieres Sunday night, Friday afternoon online.

If I have to hear "Yamo Be There" one more time, I'm going to "Yamo" burn this place to the ground.

I know there are people who don't like Labyrinth. I have an aunt whose weird enough to not let her kids watch Labyrinth but they can watch Hocus Pocus and Pirates of the Carribean.

Yeah, it's a sad day when children can't join in a singalong featuring a well-aged rocker sporting a wig, silver tights with a modest bulge and likes to juggle balls...
Whoa, they may be on to something.
I'm just kidding. It's one of my favorite movies, and I recently discovered the manga sequel through my ex-girlfriend. Storytelling like this doesn't happen anymore. I've heard people rip on FGSII for "stealing" movie ideas fortheir plots. Unless you fit in a certain age group from the era they're borrowing from or have a vast knowledge of 80's pop culture, you really can't appreciate the effort put forth by Gemberling and Guinn on this series.
What happens after this weekend's episode is still up in the air. I personally would like to see an original series for [adult swim] (God, I love typing that lol). I'd like to see a second season of FGSII, but it seems about a open and shut as the original series.

I was intent on hating this show but that episode was extremely funny. There seems to be a lot of Bowie based humour on Adult Swim as of late, particuarly on The Venture Brothers. And no, they don't make fantasy films quite like that anymore.

You're talking about The Labyrinth with David Bowie, right?

Man, I saw that movie so long ago, I wish I could see it again, but it's never on anywhere...

Yes. They used to show it on The Disney Channel but that was before Jim Henson's heirs bought back all his properties, save for a few incarnations of The Muppets. It is on DVD though.
