Damn Wrong movie

I hate it when this happen. I watch this movie by mistake. I wanted to watch the famous Uninvited in a Movie website, and instead i watch this, but the poster was the wrong one, they had the other poster. I really hated when they do this, and i watched the movie anyway, and i was suprised becouse this was a b-horror movie. When i came back to imdb i realised it wasn't the movie i wanted to watch.

Just did the same thing ... although I gave up about an hour in as this film is appalling. Only realised my mistake when I got to IMDB to rate it.

Same here. IFC says it is showing "The Uninvited" with Emily Browning, and yet they're showing "The Uninvited" with Marguerite Moreau. How terribly confusing.

reply

exactly! i am sitting here after turning it on near the end, saying "where is emily browning?" wtf is this movie?

reply

That's happened to me, too!!!!

reply

That didn't happen to me. IFC has the right description today. So far has not changed the outcome.

Hey Shawn...I am watching IFC now too but my Uverse TV guide says it's the one with Elizabeth Banks and Arielle Kebbel. I wasn't sure what movie this was until I went to IFC's website and realized its another movie with the same name. This is the third time with Uverse I've noticed they say it's one movie when it's another by the same name. It's frustrating! When it happened the second time I reported it to Showtime because I thought it was their mix-up but they told me it was the individual carrier's fault because they each have their own tv guide system.

I got the comcast and it says it's this one with Marquerite whatever. Yeah, blows when that happens - I was all stoked to watch the original Children of the Corn one afternoon and it starts up and it's the remake...had uverse at that time...their description was the old one.

This movie's ending is weird.

For real, this movie had me confused too! Even Fios is confused, they had the title and date of the other movie listed when this one was playing. I had to type in some character names to get to this page. This movie sucked, hope the other one is better!

I'm from the 80's...that's where they made me at.

I love the other "The Uninvited" with Emily Browning, but this "The Uninvited" is one of the biggest wastes of film ever. I think this was The Movie Channel's mistake because on their web site they had the good one listed.

reply

Showtime made the same mistake. It's as if these networks are hiring any old idiot off the street to do the program listings.
They've been doing the same with The Parent Trap. It's listed as the remake with Lindsay Lohan, but they're playing the original with Hayley Mills...in that case, however, I have no complaints :)

I hate that when it happens. I was set to watch Saving Private Ryan and saw Shaving Ryan's privates instead. Completely different.

Well, this happened again today, only it was on Showtime Showcase movie channel. I was geared up to see the 2009 movie, and got instead the 2008 movie. And this 2008 really IS a 'B' movie. . . it is a shame the programmers at these stations cannot get the right movie aired, to match what they tell you it will be . . .

Besides that, there was a time when NO two movies could have the exact same name, unless it was a remake. As usual, drone workers nowadays don't pay attention to the unwritten rules - they just do whatever they want! They don't have the sense to realize there was a reason it was done that way. GAWD, save us from stupidity!

Well look here, it's October 2014 and Yep ShoNext on Directv has the wrong description. Thought we were going to watch the 2009 version but NOPE! Got this awful peice of waste my time.

Maybe it's done on purpose just so this awful thing gets airtime?
