I just watched this movie on Showtime Beyond. The spooks in this movie were scary, but I could not make head nor tails out of the plot. Have any of you figured out what the plot is and what that baby was about?

I agree. There were NO explanations at all.
The plot was rambling & disjointed. The only thing I could maybe gather from it is that the place was really haunted by something.
The last shot shows her walking away carrying the baby, and we see a demonic looking woman standing in the street smiling & watching.
This was the murdered mother of the baby. Given there were murders committed, and the husband said something about using the baby in a 'ritual'...are we to deduce that they practiced Satanic rituals?
This movie made no sense. It was very scary, but wish I had the 2 hours of my life back.

shareTurns out its listed on wikipedia (make sure to search uninvited 2008). Once you read it, it's somewhat and somehow straight forward (which is pretty scary in a meta way), here goes my paraphrase:
....husband moves wife with phobia into house that's haunted, husband somehow strikes a deal with a cult(?) to make money to solve financial issues. "Buys" a baby from a lady, whose suicidal, to give to the cult to sacrifice to demons (which will give husband money, because deal with devil?). And yep man in chains is a zombie (and yes he was hit by lightning). Oh and I think the husband has mind control over wife(?). Any who, husband leaves to go to work on new dvd, house goes nuts with ghosts and scares wife, lady comes back to save her baby, zombie kills lady, husband comes back to make sure cult gets baby and tells wife whats happening (cult, sacrifice, ghosts, and money - just go with it), husband takes baby, but gets killed by zombie guy, wife takes baby, walks(?) away with baby telling cult she's leaving, lady who sells baby comes back as zombie to watch them walk away.
...now if colin hay broke out into song...i'd give this a 5 (even man down under / overkill acoustic medley can't save this one), but that, much like the plot, never develops. Like most reviews here this one ain't bad, ain't good...it just "is"

I figured the people with the cloaks and backwards voices were theistic Satanists who her husband had sold the baby to. It seems she had also had a history with the occult and mental damage. It is ambiguous and disjointed, but I think this movie has more attributes than people give it credit for.
