How cute is Amanda tapping in this movie!

Now she's double my age, but whatever, I can still appreciate when someone looks awesome, especially in the last scene when she's dressed casually, she looks amazing!

reply

I personally like her better with the shorter haircut, but she still looked great!

I was jealous when she kissed Cam on the cheek.

I'd say she looks better with long hair. ;)

reply

reply

"I'm makin' soup for Cole, he'll eat it in a bowl, I guess thats my new role...

reply

I agree I liked her look earlier in the series when she had really short hair she looked cuter.

reply

She always looks amazing, for a 42-year old, she doesn't look it. But any, she gets more beautiful with age. And I think she looks younger with long hair.

reply

I disagree, she lost her figure after she had a kid.

I agree with you guys, Amanda looks amazing at 42, what a woman, she is one of the most beautiful woman/moms ever. But disagree with you - xxhelterskelterxx, she got much hotter after her daughter was born. I mean look at some of the awesome pics of her:

I'm not seeing it.

Ive always thought she was cute, and even cuter with long hair! Long hair frames womens faces, 9 out of 10 times a woman is better looking with long hair because of that. Amanda is always cute though, either way. Shes not "hot" but she is definitely cute, and definitely very cute when you consider her age. I know several women her age (in their early 40's) that look in their 50's. Some people age well, some people do not. Shes blessed that way I guess.

She actually looks British in the first few pictures, which is interesting because she never really looked it in the show; somehow they always made her look American. Even in Sanctuary, it was hard to see the British in her.

Probably the stupidest thing I've ever read.

reply

Maybe you she read more.

Perhaps you should do the same. History books would be a good start, then look into genetics. Maybe next time you won't make such a fool of yourself.

reply

You’re right. Ignorant and stupid people frequent these boards far more often than educated and experienced people, so more people will side with you on this. Elsewhere you’re the foolish one.

The genetic makeup of the US and UK are so diverse in this day and age that it is impossible to distinguish a common set of traits in either, let alone tell by looking at them. Educate yourself for crying out loud.

reply

Educate yourself. The genetic diversity may be fairly wide now, but that changes nothing. If you have any significant experience with the two cultures, you would become familiar enough with them to be able to their people tell them apart; they are not identical.

Maybe if you watched more international television, you would be more familiar with non-Americans.

I DO what a lot of television from both countries. It's not a case of getting used to anything, it's just an impossible thing to do.

"The genetic diversity may be fairly wide now, but that changes nothing."

Uh, yes it does. A difference in genetic material is the only thing that could make one ethnic group look different to another, other than their surroundings, but considering she lives in Canada that point is moot. The fact is, there are no distinguishable American or British genetic traits that are unique to either country. It's impossible to look at either and tell where they're from. End of.

I can't tell by what you have written... but she IS British by birth... but raised in Canada

Sooo not sure where the american bit comes into it hahaha

reply

If you look at a large sample of British and American women, you will see what I mean. Just because they are all (typically) white does not mean that they all look alike. There are differences, some subtle, some not; there are nuances.

Television and film use makeup and costume for a reason: to make people look different from what they are. She is English by birth (and probably genetically), grew up in Canada, and worked for on American show for a decade.

Her natural English features were subdued during SG-1 by the makeup and costume that was applied to make Carter seem American. As a result she looked like a typical American woman on the show—attractiveness aside. In the pictures in question—which appear to be candid/natural rather than promo shots, her English qualities are apparent.

That is what I mean.

For anyone who still does not understand, just go to Google Images or some other image repository and view a large sampling of British and American women like I said. Eventually you will get to the point where you can fairly accurately pick the correct nationality, even if you cannot articulate exactly what it is that caused you to pick it. Then you’ll understand.

I agree.

I feel Ms. Tapping is a great beauty.
From the first episode of SG-1 to the last episode, I've thought she was quite beautiful in a very natural and wholesome way.
She seems to have one of those faces that is awesome with or without the Hollywood makeup artists.

More important than her incredible looks and awesome figure (yes yes... celebrity crush), anything I've read about her indicates that she is a genuinely nice person, and intelligent. Appearance, intelligence, and positive attitude. The holy trifecta of an amazing woman. :)

That all makes Allan Kovacs a very fortunate man.

When she was dressed casually, with her hair down, I agree, she was rocking it.

But I'm not feeling the braid/her work look. It ages her, imo.

Overall I think her later seasons' pixie cut was the epitome of cute. Shorter hair frames her face better.

It's probably just me, but I dug Janet Frazier more than Samantha Carter...
