'Star Trek', 'Star Wars', and 'Stargate'.

For years there was a fight between fans of "Star Trek" and "Star Wars". "Stargate" came out in 1994. It never really got into that fight. There was a fight between "Star Trek" and "Stargate" in between 2000 and 2005.

What brad-of-mygt said pretty much sums things up. More specifically, comparing the different Star* shows/movies is akin to comparing different computer operating systems.

Windows vs Mac

Linux vs Windows

Unix vs ...wait, Unix users don't give a d@mn.

Linux users tend to complain about Windows.

So the bickering is more common between them, like it is between Star Wars and Star Trek fans.

However, Unix users generally have no interest in the debate (aka: opinions) of people who use other operating systems because they're so happy with Unix that they seriously don't care to even waste their time bickering about any other OS.

And that's like several Stargate fans, they love it so much that they don't care to get involved in the bickering battles between fans of Star Wars and Star Trek.

Of course, there are SG fans that are SW fans, and SG fans that are ST fans, and some that like it all, or hate it all, etc. but in general the tendency is for Stargate fans to basically respond to SW vs ST (and vs SG) bickerings with responses like:

You shouldnt have replied at all.

I can't imagine what would be an objective or a subject of that fight other than an epic waste of time and effort.

This thread is the most unnecessary ever. Not one post got any points across.

That's the point. It's pointless. 

Not a screen rant about this but it's been mentioned elsewhere how SG also got into fight with Indiana Jones for an archaeological-minded fantasy adventure, that happened to be a sci-fi and space thriller.

By having such a diverse framework they could play out an endless stream of worlds, gods and races by interjection into the wider community. That is, until it spells disaster.

Anyway Star Trek was more before my generation, so I liked Star Wars early on, having owned the trilogy. I've migrated to favoring Stargate.
