another annoying thing about anniversery and legend

I hate how in these games you can't save whenever you want...I mean sometimes you don't get a checkpoint for a long time, and if you die, you have to go through things again. Other then that though, the games kick ass!:D

reply

So true!
But on the other hand, when you finally make it to that checkpoint,
you feel relieve and are happy :D
That's got it's charm too =)

reply

Besides that the only others 2 things that ive found annoying about those new TR are:

1) No blood at all

2) No tracking course in the manor

Do checkpoints change depending on the difficulty level? I've been playing Anniversary on Normal difficulty, and it seems like there's almost too many checkpoints.

I like the fact that you cn't save too often. i am an anally retentive palyer and used to save constantly on the others. Had an especially bad habit of re-doing a section to avaid using any medipacks or guns.

I am now well an truely cured!

reply

When I played it on "Easy" there were checkpoints all over the place, I used to save when I got to each one because they were so close together that you never really had to replay anything if you came back to it later.

It was like that in the original game as save crystals were only in specific places. I see no problem with this.

reply

They disrupt the flow of the game, which was the reason Core Design got rid of them. It was a mistake to bring them back and I hope for Legend 2 they get rid of them again.

reply

I found no disruption in the flow of the game and I never understand that complaint.

I cannot remember the website that I was at, but I found a website with all sorts of TR: Anniversay help and information. One of the things you could download was a training program. You run the program, then run the game. During the game, you would press the various F# keys to get special benefits.

Although I do not use it for the "god mode" or "all weapons" (I do want to "experience" the game :) ) it DOES have a "Quicksave" feature. When you are about to take that risky jump or otherwise treacherous move, you can press F7 and it will "save" your spot. If you fail, you press F8 and it will "load" the spot you just saved. This has no impact on your checkpoints or regular "save" options.

If I can find that website again, I will post it here.

I like how the checkpoints are far away and I miss the save crystal that were in the original tomb raider games

If anyone is interested, this is the Trainer program that I mentioned:

Great that you liked the game. We all noticed that in the original game the crystals popped up here and there and where quite annoying if you died. So we decided it would be nice if we had checkpoints so if you did end up dying you'd go right back to the checkpoint. Fans didn't really like it that much. So...Expect a semi-new save system in underworld!

I like the check points are good and the reason I like the save crystal was they're were blue and it was neat how lara grab them

I would love to see that game remade. I wonder what Core would've done for an anniversary version of that game?
