Two questions about MC Search

Is Search really that well respected in the hip hop community? I always though of 3rd Bass as a joke off nothing group...and on that note...WHERE DOES THE GUY WHO DID GAS FACE get off telling someone their video was too corny?

Serch is a loser and this show woulda been soooooo much better without him. they should had on of the beasty boys host it or somethin

reply

The Beastie Boys would've never done it... They would never want to stand up there like they were authorities.

reply

3rd bass while they were out was respected in the hiphop community, especially mc serch...i mean who ELSE was truely responsible in overseeing not only ILLMATIC, but OC's debut as well, WORD LIFE?

People on here are idiots. 3rd Bass was good ish. Pete Nice and Mc Serch were one of the illest underground groups of the early 90's. And all of that would wash the floor with any ish you hear today (Well any ish on MTV or BET atleast) all that garbage.

Thanks for the fuqqin drinks pal- Donnie Brasco

Not only did 3rd Bass get alot of respect in the HIP HOP community, but MC Serch also produced NAS's first album, ILLMATIC. And if you know anything about that album, then you would have to respect the dude who produced it because that was groundbreaking stuff.

It's hard to expect people on here to understand that MC Serch deserves respect from what he did back in the day because the only rap they probably know is people like Mike Jones and all this other dumbed down crap that's produced today.

When you think of illmatic, do you think of mc serch ? That album wasn't hot for its beats, it was hot for its content and lyrics. Those were the days where the producer didn't have to get a shoutout on the record to make it hot.

I am glad that I came on to this thread because I had not heard of MC SERCH until The White Rapper Show (which by the way I loved). I think he must have been very prominent in the Hip Hop community because of all that he had on his show. Being a blk female I believe that they truly did a great job finding white rappers that could acutally rap. I loved Persia I really believe she was the best then Shamrock and John Brown. Most dont like John Brown because of his Ghetto Revival but hey everyone gotta have a gimmick and that was his. I think he spits some sure fire lyrics and it is hard to hold him down. I am sure we will see something from him in the near future. Again I loved this show.

Yo how can ya rag on this show son? This show was well made, and if you watch the VH1 extras on it, you'll see that MC Serch really felt that these white dudes had talent.

MC Serch, i honestly hadn't heard of him as well as other rappers, but i did some googlygooglygoogle on him and found out he's done his work. (Illmatic being some of his best), and his contribution to 3rd Bass was really essential mengg.

Iunno, i think it was a good show overall, JB's got a few sick songs now on his myspace!
