Jus Rhyme

I was doing some surfing on these contestants and found something really cool about Jus Rhyme.

White Rapper: Jus Rhyme
Jus Rhyme (real name Jeb Middlebrook) is a politically aware and socially responsible 27-year-old rapper and college student pursuing his PhD in Ethnic Studies at USC.

My TA this semester looks a lot like Jus Rhyme. I kinda wonder.

Jus Rhyme is a cool guy. His heart is in the right place and some of his rhymes are pretty good. Having said that... I thought it was SOOO funny when he said he was gonna "hurt some feelings" at the rap battle in Detroit. Then at the battle he said that funny line: "When they say you a small Dude, they not talkin' 'bout height!"

Jus, you are one funny dude!

That might have connected more if he built up to it with more punches and had the crowd with him. To cut off your rhyme and then start it like that makes it sound lame. Sometimes, it's about correct timing.

I get what he's trying to do, but I just think it kind of downplays it with the whole AR-15 thing.

1. Practice non-violence.
2. Learn anti-racist history.
3. Study legacies of resistance.
4. Research your family history.
5. Respect leadership of color.
6. Stand in solidarity.
7. Challenge oppression.
8. Listen actively.
9. Create anti-racist culture.
10. Act on your principles.
11-15. For future generations.

All very good things, but 11-15. Whenever I see it, I'm like, they couldn't come up with 15 so they did it like that so they could use the name AR-15 like the gun.

Karen, if you see Jesus, tell him to take the gerbil babies! They're Christians!

yeah, that 11-15 part was pretty lame. they couldn't think of 4 more. It was funny though how he dissed La Peace. "Yo ain't La Peace, you La Police." Something like that.
