What happened to Emily?

Did they ever explain what happened to Emily (Kirsten Storms)? I didn't get to watch the movie, so I'm pretty lost. :P

Emily wasn't in this one. when chris accusses johnny of being interested in Val all johnny says is that val's not his girlfriend. he doesn't say anything about already having one though which i thought waz really odd.

Why is that odd? This movie is 4 years later, they could have broken up by then.
