The 'Jeep'....

Ok, it's a minor and petty gripe, but I have to call it out because I'm a car guy.

Why do they refer to nearly every vehicle they use on an outing as a "Jeep" when it's almost always a land rover or a Toyota or something? And the once that I've seen so far where the had an actual Jeep he referred to it twice and an SUV! The one time he could have been correct, he missed it. Does this bug anyone else?

A little afterthought here so that I'm not misunderstood, I'm not saying a Jeep is not an SUV, it's just he never called the actual jeep a jeep. What's up with that?

Oh my god, I'm not the only one!!! I get so annoyed when he calls the vehicle a 'jeep' when it's either a Toyota or a Land Rover. Thank you!!!

In most places outside of the US and Canada "Jeep" is used as a generic reference. All SUVs are commonly referred to as Jeeps.

The same thing happens with "Kleenex". I can't recall the last time I have heard anyone say "pass me a tissue".
