I actually know the answer!!
Misuzu, for some reason, would always make the sound effect "Gao!" ever since she was little because she thought it was the sound a dinosaur would make. Misuzu loves dinosaurs, and therefore copies the noise, as explained by her mother. In the second episode (I think) we actually see Yukito with a shirt that says "Gao Gao" on the top with a picture of a Stegosaurus in the middle and the word "Stegosaurus" underneath.
So that's where the shirts came from!
