American DVD edited or original edit?

When Shaolin Soccer was first released in the US it was hacked to pieces by US based editors (why??? I don't know!!!). Does anyone know if the DVD out here in the US is the original edit from Mr. Chow or did Sony re-edit it to "make it better for US viewers" (bleck!!!! That phrase makes me sick!!!!)??

Either way I liked the film but if there is a different ORIGINAL edit out there I would like to see it.

It's uncut, as there wasn't anything to cut. I mean, it is a children's movie after all.

was the original in cantonese or mandarin? Cuz the American DVD I have only has mandarin, which sucks. I wanna hear Stephen Chow's own voice, not some voice dubber's.

Annoyingly it's half-dubbed whether you watch it in Cantonese or Mandarin, with the children speaking synch-sound in Mandarin, and the adults speaking synch-sound in Cantonese, you basically take your pick, I prefer the Cantonese but it's still annoying.
