well, he had stated in various interviews that it was going to be his last film, but after the huge success of the first Arthur film (everywhere except for the US that is) he decided to go ahead and make film adaptations of the rest of the Arthur books he's created.

I'm glad this is the case, because he's too talented of a director to stop now. Hopefully he will move on beyond the Arthur films though.



Warner Bros has answered our prayers-- BLADE RUNNER: FINAL CUT--in theaters and DVD in 2007 !

i was glad when he first announced he was doing more arthurs
but not glad yesterday

That's what he originally said but he changed his mind and since then he's directed 3 films (including 2 Arthur ones) and his getting ready to shoot his fourth, a sci-fi extravaganza. He also directed a short film (also Arthur-related).

Drop it like it's legal precedent!
