Karim played by Christopher Simpson

Why not cast a Bengali actor? I could barely understand his Bengali...

I think Christopher Simpson was great in this movie... he's the only reason I continued watching the film. He's hot!

i don't think the character is supposed to be good at speaking bengali. because she says he stutters when he speaks it.

I think his Bengali was supposed to be not so great considering that he was raised in The UK and was probably more accustomed to speaking English in his daily life. I know a lot of children of immigrants who are criticized by their parents and family embers for not speaking great (insert language here) even though their parents spoke it in the home.
Honestly Christopher Simpson was my main reason for watching this film, I thought he was great as Karin and I thought he did a good job of making the character likeable despite his ties with the (possibly extremist) Islamic group. I felt for his character more than anyone else in the movie, especially the main character who I did sympathize with in a way (married off too young), but I didn't like the way she used a Karim as a way to feel "like she was back home." I mean, I understand he was extremely sexy and it would be really hard to resist acting on that, but I just
felt like she was immature and selfish and I really felt empathy for Karim in his final scene when he left in anger and tears after she told him she didn't want to marry him.
All in all, I did enjoy this movie and I wound up feeling for the characters (including the husband, although he was annoying), but I thought Karim was the most likeable character of everyone and
I truly felt more emotion for him than anyone else in the film, including the main character.
