Why dramatize the fates of others((SPOILER))

It is not a good idea for the lead character Nathan to have a social networking connection such as Facebook, cos his friends would think this guy is a bad luck since people around him dies one after the other in a short haul.

Anna's father died of electric shock, then she died of gun shoot. And his baby Paul died of unknown syndome asleep, then Claire also died? So to be a messenger is too unbearable to be, so many death. Why the story has to be so dramatic?
