Anna - the Russian immigrant

This role was given to Pascale Bussières, a french (quebec) actress. She is not of russian origin so my question is :

How was her russian accent? Was it believable?

I know that when i watch an american movie that has a french person that sounds like an american, it frustrates me. Because i don't know anything about the russian language, i would like to know how the real russian people saw her character.

Not really!
Sure people used to live abroad for quite a long time (like Anna’s character) have some kind of specific accent, but not in this case. She speaks like a foreigner. Some of her relatives spoke normal russian without any accent. That’s logical due to Slavic surnames in the cast)

Anyway that wasn't so bad than usually in american movies, when it’s much better to read english subtitles. Because their russian kills your ears and brain:)

Her Russian accent was terrible.

I didn't even know she was French, but when i was watching I said that her accent sounds more French than russian
