I LOVE this show....

...I appear to be alone in this but I can't help it. As raunchy and vulgar as the show gets-- there is something sweet and goofy that I love about it. Episode 4 was hilarious!

I agree, I think it's one of the best new shows on right now.

The bar owner's love forbidden homosexual love for Paulie is hilarious!

reply

Never heard of it until this morning. Watched the episode with Dee Snyder and the one with Joan Rivers OnDemand. Thought I'd never stop laughing. Hilarious.

"I save a woman's life once. I unchained her from the radiator in Rick James' basement while he was out buying rolling papers."

LMAO!!!! Can't wait to see the rest.

..I'd go to middle earth and look for Unspoiled Monsters. Then move to the country.

Agreed - I feel in love with this show! As a gigging musician trying to "make it," there's an intrinsic humor to be loved about this show. Great music, hilarious subtleties, and some of the odd situations all musicians have been in.

Trying to win over a crowd that wants to hear jazz, though... yeah, I hope to dodge that bullet!

reply

...if there is a hell and I had to go there I would be forced to listen to jazz for all eternity...good luck NOT ever having to play it!

Love the show playing to black audience. Patrice O'Neal: "After the booing comes the cuttin'~!" The elderly casino crowd was awesome, too. "Old Jews and white trash!" Crowds can be unforgiving.

I like the Pauly subtext, too. Dave is the stud who can't NOT get with a woman whereever and whenever. Joey C has a steady girlfriend/fiancee that he doesn't want to marry and is truly a bag of trouble. And Pauly Z...has a gay clubowner madly in love with him, and a 6-year-old who wants to "give that man a rim job~!" Looking forward to Pauly exploring why he pings on gaydar.:-)

My favorite character is the cougar manager Dina (Lynn Koplitz); she truly loves these boys, believes in their act, and she is hot and nuts. Fun to watch, my favorite TV manager since Reuben Kincaid.

reply

Ha, ha, Dina and Reuben-- worlds apart but I get the analogy. I guess Dave Z. would be an NC17 version of David Cassidy. Dina is a combo of Reuben and Mrs. P.-- both mother and manager. I think she's a little young for "cougardom" since I'm guessing she's under 40-- but maybe not. I love the the fact that the club owner is not a gay stereotype-- he looks like a typical metal head which makes it even funnier because his comments to Paulie are so unexpected. He's much changed in episode one of S2 as he has "discovered" himself on a trip abroad...

reply

This show friggin cracks me up. I'm thinking Season 2 might be even funnier than Season 1. "Shnap" from a few episodes back, omg, those guys are too much. The episode with the pedicabs--it was classic!

reply

Funny as hell. Hope it catches on.

reply

So...I've never seen this show, but I accidentally met Pauly in Vegas. He's really nice!

reply

glamgirl-- I think it's been off the air for at least a year now. Good to hear Pauly's nice-- just missed them playing in Chicago last year--DAYUM! I gather from your screen name...you are an Adam Lambert fan?

"Sookie...you...are...MINE!"

reply

It's way wittier than "Flight of the Concords." Love this show!
