sucks

I think it really sucks that Cashmere is canceled, but Lipstick Jungle is just up and running and coming back! Cashmere is SO much better! NO FAIR!

WHAT? I can't believe it!!! I loved Cashmere Mafia so much more too!!!

I couldn't agree more. There was more sass and fun in the first 5 mins of the Cashmere pilot than the whole of Lipstick Jungle season 1.Better cast and better scripts.

Even though lipstick is from the same author as sex and the city, what made cashmere far more superior is that Darren starr was behind this one. And he made sex and the city what it was.

Real shame!

I'm with you. Lipstick Jungle makes me want to puke!

I guess Brooke Shields has more friends at higher places than Lucy Liu does...

I would totally disagree because unlike Lipstick Jungle where Brooke Shields' and Kim Raver's characters actually had chemistry (not with Lindsay Price), the chemistry between the 4 leads in CM just didn't gel. It worked when they were just two of them or three but when the 4 of them were together, I found it a little hard to believe that they were friends. Most actors have claimed that chemistry is a natural thing and cannot be faked and I guess that is true because eventho the 4 leads in CM are all gorgeous and talented, I just don't buy the 4 of them together. SATC worked, amongst other things, because the 4 of them were believable as friends eventho their characters were so different from each other but each balanced the other out. They just couldn't find that with CM.

If Brooke Shields has more friends in higher places, that's only coz she's been working in the industry since she was barely a year old and she's still managed to turn out fine. Compare her with the rest of the cliched child actors or even the regular ones (Lindsay Lohan) and you have to give her credit for turning out as well as she did after so many years there so if she gets special favours for that, it's not like she didn't earn them. Lucy Liu's great but her legacy is nowhere near Brooke Shields.

that's fascinating but we're not talking legacies here, we're talking about how a series with a lot of potential was wasted (I believe chemistry grows over time as people get to work together) and how one which didn't make sense (the ladies of lipstick are more like desperate housewives (without the spunk) than SATC girls) was kept on the air.

*KING KHAAAAAN! (and my heart goes kong)*

I blame Juliet, who thought acting meant licking her lips every 30 seconds.
