so there isnt going to be a second season then?

shame, as much as it was a complete rip off of sex and the city, and not half as good, it wasnt bad id still watch it, definately better than that lipstick jungle!

I enjoyed both Cashmere Mafia and Lipstick Jungle. I am going to miss them both. I have to wonder...Has the whole 'successful women in New York' storyline thing gone out of style? I think it is going out of style and movie and TV show makers are seeing that. I admit that while Cashmere Mafia, Lipstick Jungle and Sex and the City were all great shows, the whole "lets get together for lunch and discuss all of our problems" and stuff did get old. While the shows were funny and sweet and certainly had their moments, they were often predictable and eventually did hit the point of boring. Does anyone see where I am coming from on this?

yeah i do! it is true, it has been done to death. Maybe it would be better if they focused on 3/4 different women, who dont know each other, their different lives, problems etc, because the thing i like most about sex and the city, cashmere mafia and lipstick jungle is the fact its real, those types of things e.g the failed and struggling relationships happen in real life, instead of all this happily ever after crap. OR what would be really interesting is focusing on some male characters too. Maybe all of them could work in the same building but not be friends or know each other well... still i think with stuff like the L word nowadays it'd be difficult for them to compete.

ITA! You have to have a really AMAZING plot nowadays on TV for it to actually last as a series.

I just wanted to comment on what psycho-kid said about a "male Sex and the City". That was done, by ABC too. It was called 'Big Shots' and despite having an AMAZING cast, writers...it was cancelled early in.

I agree.. I hate things being unresolved... I wanted to see just how nasty Davis and Juliet's divorce was going to get!

A foolish comical idea that played out with sex and the city. face it this idea of scuessful women is actually a con. It gives the viewer the idea that sucessful women have to be in the fashion industry, the media, when women , like men, could be just as sucessful as lawyers, soldiers, police....come on the idea is dea, died after the first episode of sex and the city.

You know, my partner and I tried watching this show - we got through four episodes, and I turned to her and said "I just really don't care what happens to any of these women or their families." She said "I know what you mean - they're just not very *good* people."

That was the reason Sex in the City was such a winner - at the core, Carrie, Charlotte, Miranda and Samantha were written as *good* people, despite their flaws, dumb decisions, etc.

In CM, there was no heart, in my opinion.
