i think you were probably looking for something a little more specific than the other reply ;)

my guess is the shindaita neighborhood in setagaya, tokyo... i've lived on both ends of the train line that runs past their house (inokashira line) and that's the only place i can think of where the lines are that close to houses besides my old station... which it wasn't. the terrain also gets flatter as the train gets closer to kichijoji, so it has to be somewhat near the shibuya station.

Sadly, the original house has been replaced with a more contemporary design with fewer windows. Not that the view is typically scenic anyway.
