Ten Empty - well worth seeing

Ten Empty

I'm an occasional moviegoer, but I'm glad I'm saw Ten Empty.

It's an excellent movie, and worth wider exposure than it is likely to get.

I enjoyed it for two reasons.
First, it's a powerful depiction of Aussie emotions - both the negatives -- men unable to face and confront their feelings, unwilling to accept illness when it hits, and loathe to face death when it strikes; and the positives -- mateship, courage and the fighting spirit.
Also, the storytelling was powerful. Many of my questions about the characters and their circumstances were answered with small hints as the story progressed - what happened to Ross's first wife, why Elliott left home, and how Diane came onto the scene. No time wasting details!
I'm not sure, however that the South Australian Tourist Commission will recommend Ten Empty as an advertisement for Adelaide. Westfield, new in the last 10 years, come off it! And many of the settings are reminiscent of a country town, much, much smaller than Adelaide.
Oh, and by the way, I'll be much more choosy in future when I'm invited in for a cup of tea!

Is this life worth living, I ask you?
