Errrm?

This could have been a decent little film but the ending was ludicrous. The blood and gore were cool and completely OTT, almost cartoonish and the plot (for most of the film) seems to be borrowed heavily from Cube but the ending completely ruined it. An interesting failure in my eyes unfortunately.

"Hasta la vista, baby."

In my opinion, the only thing that saves this film is its turn to sci-fi concepts. As a horror movie, it feels derivative of much better movies (Cube and Dark City) and the recent spat of medical inspired "torture porn" films. This film stands out from almost all other horror movies by contriving a plot in which the viewer is 1) able to sympathize with the torturers and 2) avoids trite explanations for suffering (such as vacuous revenge and psychopathic acts of cruelty). Not only these factors, but the plot is original enough to have been somewhat unexpected.

The whole movie is pretty terrible. It's a failure for sure, but nothing interesting about it.
