The Real Reason Why No Sequel -- or Reboot

http://1.usa.gov/1OiXIFs

I strongly urge you all to read this.

Paramount is likely waiting till the option contracts expires to let loose of M. Night's ownership of the film rights. Who knows how long he has ownership. It is a duel ownership, I reckon. This can still be bought but it has be based off the characters and not the show. I think that can be done, right?

Heads up -- your link didn't work for me!

Actually, given the latest trivia on IMDb and Night's recent British interview, there's now a higher chance that Night is going to return for the sequel after his next thriller (which is filming right now). Nickelodeon stated in 2015 that they want Shyamalan back to make the sequel. This is great news! ^_^ I always loved the 1st film, and have been praying for the other 2 films to be made.

reply

Why? The film flopped and was reviled by fans.

reply

I personally do not think the film "flopped". Shyamalan made money. He also succeeded in turning his intended artistic vision of the show's adaption into reality, so I see the film as an artistic success. It succeeded in communicating a powerful message on culture, philosophy and spirituality to its audience.

As for the film being reviled by fans, that is actually false. There are plenty of fans (like myself) who thoroughly enjoyed the film, and accept its adaption for exploring something fresh outside of the show's content, which is my definition of an excellent adaption. There is no need to adapt something LITERALLY like the show. Go watch the show if you want a LITERAL display. There are also fans (like me) who thought season 1 of the film is better than all 3 seasons of the show. Yes indeed. ^_^

Whatever you say M. Night ;)

reply

The majority of AVATAR: TLA fans thought the film was CRAP (which it was). In fact, the show's CREATORS thought the film was CRAP! NO ONE is stupid enough to give M. Night money to make a sequel and NO ONE would pay to see his sequel.

Just because you think the film is crap or a majority thinks it is crap, that does not make it an absolute fact. Even if the whole world thinks so, it is meaningless. In order to understand the truth about a film, it must be deconstructed and backed with original thought and new knowledge using scholarly references. I can achieve such a feat by defending this movie with just explaining the movie itself. That is all I need. The movie does very well at defending itself against unintelligent audiences.

Here is an example of someone who was capable of deconstructing the truth behind the barbaric 300 movie:

So according to that claptrap, there is no such thing as a bad movie. By the same token, there can be no such thing as a good movie. Bunch of nonsense that pretentious fanboys of a hack like Manoj Shyamalan cook up to excuse hackery.

mazardeus is either a troll or a retarded hack.

as you said according to him no film can be superior or inferior to another.

therefore a film like inception or guardians of the galaxy, is no better than abunch of 12 years grabbign a camera, filming the entire thing at eye level long shots, and all 4 actors just looking into the camera and saying "derp derp" "flerp flerp"

reply

You can deconstruct this movie all you want, it still sucks.

Pretty ironic, a cross being used to kill someone

by that definitions. literally EVERYTHING ius a success. tranformers is an artistic success, howard the duck,

It succeeded in communicating a powerful message on culture, philosophy and spirituality to its audience.

no the TV show did all that. with 3 dimensional characters, 4 very distinct cultures and their interactions in a fantastical world that had surprising horrows

the movie was 2d, 2d cahracters, 2d bad guys and "teams", 2d philosophy

As for the film being reviled by fans, that is actually false.

so say 1 in 1 million loved it and thought it was great, then it isnt reviled?

conversely, if 1 in 1 million hate a film, and the other 999 999 love it, then you would also so "that is false that the film is lvoed by fans, i hate it!"

accept its adaption for exploring something fresh outside of the show's content, which is my definition of an excellent adaption

Actually no it isnt... at all....... the definition of an excellent adaptation, like game of thrones, LOTR and harry potter showed, is stay true to the original characters and their traits, story and general feel of the origional source... there is a reason fans want their origional adapted.. they want to see their favourite characters in a different medium. by definition if they are massively changed, they are no longer the same characters.

please stop talking. you are an idiot...

There are also fans (like me) who thought season 1 of the film is better than all 3 seasons of the show. Yes indeed. ^_^

you can think that poop and pee taste delicious. that doesnt make it true. avatar the show ahs a 9.2 on imdb that is remarkably high and unheard of. you are either bat crap crazy or an idiot

The main reason there will be no continuation of the series is because the actors have aged and the story only covers a year. A reboot is possible but unlikely, especially if that hack Shyamalan has anything to do with it. If the creators write the screenplay and a good director and a good producer are found, it might be able to bypass the stink of Shyamala's wretched attempt.

No, M. Night Shyma-lama-ding-dong ruined a masterpiece and no one -I repeat-NO ONE was going to greenlight a sequel after the reviews came in. Also, it didn't matter that the young cast would age. What mattered most about the cast was the fact that none of them could act!
