Ally's Name

There is no 'trivia' given for this movie, but I would imagine the lead character name of Ally Simms is a nod to Alastair Sim, who played Ebenezer Scrooge in the 1951 movie, "Scrooge", one of the best-known versions of the Dickens' classic.

While "A Valentine Carol" will never be mistaken for a Dickens work, I watched it when it was first on TV and again today, and I enjoyed it both times.

Merry Christmas, everyone . . . and Happy Valentine's Day!

I noticed that, too! And of course, we had Jackie Marley instead of Jacob Marley, and the guy in love with the assistant was Tim, a la Tiny Tim. I thought the movie was actually quite clever.

clever central.

I was thinking of the immortal words of Socrates, who said, "... I drank what?"
