I see that this board isn't all that busy, so I decided to create a thread about the first episode, "Search for the Dragon". It just finished airing on CW in the Eastern and Central time zones.
I thought it was an ok start.

It is certainly is in good hands. it has potential written all over it. they kept the real name to separate it from saban/disney's masked rider. which is the thing they have to do the most IMO. They have got to make sure that this show is as stylistically distinct from disney/saban as possible. "just another power rangers show" plagued vr troopers, masked rider, and to a lesser extent beetleborgs. i really liked what theyve done so far and i am hoping for it to be good and successful. i would love to see kamen rider to be as annual as power rangers. who knows what else we might see if another ameritoku era occur? Garo?

I didn't really like it. I know that it's aimed towards kids and I'm 20,but I still watch Power Rangers and love it. Maybe I hate it so much because I love Ryuki and Ryuki is what got me interested in Kamen Rider,that I just think Dragon Knight is an insult. I think it's funny how people complain that Dragon Knight is a kids show and that's why it's lame because it's for kids. The Kamen Rider Series is a kids show in Japan too and it's totally bad-ass! I just think it's interesting to see how our two cultures are so different. How riders killing other riders and swearing and such is fine for the kids in Japan,but not for american kids.
In the name of God, impure souls of the living dead shall be banished into eternal damnation. Amen.
Actually, it's aimed to a higher demograph of kids than Power Rangers, because it doesn't hold it's punches as much (literally and figuratively), the actors take situations more seriously, the script isn't filled with a bunch of wise-cracking jokes (the villians are virtually silent here), and plot points seems to be stringing together quite nicely.
In all, it may still be for kids, but at least this time it doesn't treat them like complete idiots.

I like the series a lot, of course it doesn't compare to the original, neither does the American Power Rangers but both are good for what they are. Granted, I like that this series stepped it up a bit over power rangers in terms of editing (but still, neither could be shown completely faithful because the originals are too violent for American Censors in that time block)
So I hope this one does well to see more Kamen Rider adaptions in the future.
Well, I hope you guys are enjoying, since whenever it's on in my area, they show this stupid low-budget Spanish show about these masked wrestlers selling cars.
