This movie sucked...tried hard to be Soul Food
With christmas lights. The singing was laughable..did not even try to make it seem like live singing... Just a really bad movie

Well, everyone has the right to express his or her opinion. I haven't seen SOUL FOOD, and I thoroughly enjoyed this movie. I do get tired o the "this movie sucks" posts because they are subjective and don't take into account the fact that lots of good people like it. And on the other hand, those of us who liked it have to realize that our opinion is also subjective and that there are lots of good people who didn't like it.
There is some value in both positive and negative posts as long as the posters share their reasons for liking or disliking.

For those who didn't understand the German phrase in my post, I told that other person that (s)he doesn't have an ear for music.

I noticed the German phrase, but really could care less to know what it means... However, I MUST say, that I liked this movie better than Soul Food (the TV show was excellent though)... Perhaps it's because I went in with low expectations? I don't know, but I did like this movie better...
shareI agree, the Soul Food TV series is excellent. I like watching "This Christmas" in both English and French...though some of the parts where they swear are not translated into French every single time (like when Malcolm is slipping and sliding in the bathroom floor and says "Sh!t!" LOL!!)
