you mean this wasn't directed by tyler perry?

I was surprised. This had all the elements of a Tyler Perry movie. The men are portrayed as reckless, uncaring a*holes, the women are long-suffering victims and relgion is a small but important theme. I mean the lead female character is called MaDere for goodness sake. The sad thing is this movie would have been a lot better if MadEA was in it. A lot of people criticize Tyler Perry for his films being too formulaic but at least his films are entertaining. I wonder how much Chris Brown's people paid the producers to let him be in this film. We all know he can sing but did they have to waste so much time on this aspect of his character? Some good actors were given mediocre roles: Delroy Lindo, Lupe Ontiveros and Mekhi Phifer. The only good part of this movie was Sharon Leal and Lauren London. These two made this farcical movie watchable, not just for their beauty.
