Was there at least 1 white person in this movie?

Cause they have a quota of having one white person per movie. In hollywood its a must. Think over the past 10 years when has one movie been 100% black. I can wait.....

Yes. The one black guy (the one who was AWOL from the service) had a white wife.

See?? I've proven my point, PureYorubaLady. You're on here complaining about racist white people (of which I'm not one), and you're racist against them. Whoever said blacks cannot be racist is full of doo-doo.

This begs the question.

Do you think White people wanted to be in this movie if offered the script?

Do you think there would be even more White people attending this movie if the director added more to existing cast, include a White family that were neighbors to this family and give them some on camera speaking time.

How much do you think that would have had an affect on this film? How and Why?

Would this cast addition have changed your opinion of this film? How and Why?

Why would I even want to answer any of those questions, which are pointless to ask?

This question was directed at those who complain about there being just one White person in this film.

Oh okay...the fact that there was only one white person in the film didn't bother me. I watch African-American movies all the time and enjoy them.

I'm white and this is my favourite Christmas movie. It has no effect on me whether there are white people in this movie or not (although I LOVE Jessica Stroup). I saw it in theatres cause I thought it looked funny and I watch it over and over again because it is. The fact that the cast is black really doesn't matter to me and I think I'd enjoy the movie just as much if the cast was latin or asian...etc

I'm not going to pretend race isn't an issue to anyone but I doubt white people go "Oh! There's more than one white person in that prodominantly black movie, I must see it now!"

I agree with your reply.

That is the most stupid *beep* I’ve ever heard. As long as it is a good movie and it has good actors, what does the colour of someone’s skin matter?

reply

You're right. But it's okay for a movie to have a completely white cast. Ugh, it's so stupid. The fact that skin even matters, the fact they're we're even talking about something as STUPID as skin tone...is just totally sad in itself.

"you're my backup dancers - so back up b-tches!"

reply

i do not see the big deal--- there are all white cast ALL the time! so wtf would it matter if there didnt happen to be ONE white character???

reply

Since this movie is about a black family's reunion during the Christmas season, there was no necessity for a caucasian character. However, the fact that there was one was quite reasonable although not required.

Let me be the first to wish you a Merry Christmas! Ho, ho, ho!

Tell me why you would need white people in the middle of a story about the
internal lives of a black family?

I don't see it neccessary unless there is a character (i.e., the awol
soldier's white wife); relative to what is going on in that particular
black family!

Don't forget white shows, i.e. "Friends", (token: Gabrielle Union);
and "Seinfeld" (token: Gregory Hines; and ONLY as special guest stars,
NEVER in a permanent role!
