The only redeeming part of the movie was the ending scene...

This movie tried to be so much, but failed on so many layers. It is a real shame to see a waste of such great talents as Mekhi, Delroy, Loretta, and Regina. There was little to no chemistry between the actors. I swear that the writer took segments of Soul Food, Tyler Perry (Madea and Diary of a Mad Black Woman) and put them together into this mess of a film. I still am sitting here asking myself why I finished it. I guess to see Mekhi because he is so handsome. I have read some reviews on here that indicated that this was just a vehicle for Chris Brown, who, my apologies, am not familiar with his music, and I wonder if that is true.

Let's not even start on the plot holes, wow. There are so many, it would be hard to list. If you have absolutely nothing else to do in your life, and no other films to watch, then pop this in, fast forward to the last scene, and have at it. I give it a 2.5 out of 10.

Are you sure you're on the right movie's message board?

Ummm.... yes....

I did not want to be too specific since I did not have room to put SPOILER in the subject. But yes, this movie was quite disappointing to me, except for the cute ending scene, if that is what you want to call it. It was a waste of Regina King's and Loretta Devine's talents. I am not sure if it was the script, I think there was good potential in the storylines. The move just did not come together. Characters did not have chemistry together or anything. It was almost as if they all got the script over-nighted to them, met the next day, and started filming.

I will perhaps take from your response that you felt otherwise. To each his own. I just expected a little bit, well, a lot more, than I got.

Plot holes??? It's a lighthearted Christmas movie. If you're finding plot holes you REALLY are looking too deep into this movie.

I give the ending scene 1/10. Interminable.

I'd give the very last scene a 4/10. It was cute enough but it lasted too long. The end credits should have been playing through it, then it would have been a little better.
