Phillippe Cousteau

The Plot Outline States the following: Host Steve Irwin, "The Crocodile Hunter," in his last documentary, teams up with oceanographer Phillippe Cousteau to explore the deadliest sea creatures living in the waters between Australia's Gold Coast and the Great Barrier Reef.

My Question is: Is Phillippe Cousteau the son of Jacques Cousteau? If so, his IMDB page states that he died in a plane crash on June 28, 1979.

reply

I think the one in the special is Philippe Cousteau's son, or Philippe Cousteau jr.

reply

In the begining of the show he says he is Jacques Cousteau's grandson.

Happy 2007!!

Thank you both for your replies! I did enjoy the show...I laughed and cried throughout. It was very well done.

reply

I agree I think they did a wonderful job...very tactful.

Happy 2007!!

I agree that the show was well done. It was cute how Philippe Cousteau kept trying to use some of Steve's catchphrases. I'm really looking forward to more documentaries from Philippe. He won't replace Steve, but he's seems pretty passionate about nature as well (and he's easy on the eyes!)

I think he did a great job on the show. Espically going from pretty much a guest, to having to finish the show after the accident. I agree that he (nor noone) will ever replace Steve, But I hope he does more for the animal planet and discovery channel. He is fun to watch and I can see him becoming the next great animal planet host.

Well done Phillippe
