Bad movie, real and terrible subject

I mean, I was really surprised when I realized that Brian de Palma had directed this movie. The acting was poor, the dialogue was cliché and the production kind of cheap. I know because I have read about the subject, that the facts portrayed in this movie have happened. It's a terrible thing. But, this movie was just bad. About atrocities commited by Americans there are way better movies, but in different wars. Platoon and Casualties of War, come to mind. And the very unknown The Beast of War, but in this one the perpetrators were soviet soldiers(No rape here, but some really nasty killings of indefense Afghans). Great movies, as movies. The subject is the same.
