Question about dynamic lighting

Hi guys, i know this games fairly buggy but i was wondering if anyone had a solution to my problem.

The game was crashing regularly at first for me, but i figured out that turning the lighting setting to static lighting stopped it, it hasn't crashed on me once since and i've been playing it for a solid 2 weeks or so now.

The problem is, although the game looks pretty damn good and detailed (i've got pretty much all settings on maximum) it looks far more detailed and cool when the dynamic lighting is switched on, it even makes the underground parts more atmospheric, so i was wondering if anyone knew a method for me to switch the dynamic lighting back on whilst avoiding it crashing on me again.

Just for the record my machine specs are

Processor: Intel core 2 duo E6600
Graphics Card: ATI Radeon X1800xt graphics card
Memory: 2 GB DDR2 ram

Your outta luck bud...I have an ATI Mobility Radeon 1900 and it runs like pure crap with dynamic lightning...as what i've seen/heard they're making a patch online to die down the detail of dynamic lighting and will come out in the next few weeks..hope this helps...

Strange, I have an E6400, 2gb RAM and a GeForce 8800GTS and it runs like a dream with everything turned on max and at 1400x1050. Not had any problems with crashes yet.

You might want to turn Full Dynamic Lightning if you have an ATI 3850 or NVIDIA 8800 or better. It seems that your video card does not support that option.

Anyway, try to apply the last patch (v1.0005 and then v1.0006) or updating your Forceware driver.

I use Static Lightning and runs perfectly on a 7300 GS. The other two options uses the DX9 renderer, which means a (much) better looking at cost of perfomance.

The first casualty of war is innocence.
