boring hosts!!!

I agree!! I was so excited when I heard they were making a show based on the book, but it has turned out to be such a disappointment. The couple is boring and uninspiring; they have nothing to add to the conversation.

I don't like the way the director chooses to present the places they visit, either. The show is too subdued. These are exciting places they are showing. It shouldn't be filmed like a bad infomercial. Very disappointing all-around.

Great book - poor tv show.

Watched about 5 minutes on my hometown (Vancouver) and just couldn't take it anymore! 'Wow, this place is amazing....cool...so awesome.' I mean did these people drop out of school, or do they just naturally have nothing to say. I'm surprised the camera doesn't breakdown from sheer boredom watching them. Sure, I've met some U.S. travellers out there that made me shake my head in wonder, but to put such a couple on TV...well, I guess we'll see if the show lasts.

I would have to agree on the host issue. I am very surprised though about people making negative comments about show itself. If you are presented with something new to watch on that boring tv programming you either need to not watch it and dont post here and or watch it and enjoy.

In my opinion show hosts are ok because they represent a young couple. I am confused as to "what a tipycal american couple" should look like in THIS tv show. I mean are we hoping to see beautiful scenery and overweight or morbedly obese people or are we interested in looking at redneck hillibillies? Its true that hosts are not exactly a 9/10 couple but they are not 3/10 either. I would like to underline the boring dialog.. that I can agree on. At the same time its really difficult to say something different about the stuff you do not know and or at the spur of the moment. Crocodile hunter show is a great example as aside from action Steve Irvin's dialogue is limited by crikey mate, isnt she a little beauty, look at the beautiful coloration, you are alright mate.. and that show lasted for almost 10 years. I would not want to see a travel show having 2 smarty pants either because it would be plain boring to hear: "well the complexity of the baroque period is such that during the times of peter the great it was inevitable that henchman of the conneseur society authenticated..."

How to make this show successful:
-if they do plan to show 1000 episodes.. yeah right but lets assume
-change couples after at most every 2 shows. Show is about places and not about THE couple.
-they have discovery 1080 drawing.. why not make same thing for this show? I am pretty sure that most couples would want to have an all expenses paid honey moon.
