Massive disappointment

I expected the film to be superman vs doomsday not 1 battle between them and 2nd half of the film to be the evil clone or whatever

reply

Doomsday was always just a plot device to kill Superman and deal with his death.

Can't stop the signal.

Yeah i get that but maybe the sequel could have been superman coming back and then fighting the evil clone i would have liked to see more Doomsday destruction

I don't understand. You want a movie that contains 70 minutes of nothing but a non-stop battle between Superman and Doomsday? That isn't much of a plot and would get pretty boring after 20 minutes. I like action movies but I believe that there should also be a plot and not just non-stop action.

Plus it doesn't make sense for two opponents to fight that long before one of them wins. If both opponents are standing after 30 minutes, that means that their strikes are ineffective. How does that work exactly? Are Superman and Doomsday really good at dodging punches from each other or are their strikes so weak that their opponent could get hit hundreds of times before they fall.

They had 1 battle!!
Yes i expected more

You really didn't address my points. Like I said, I like action but if the movie was nothing but 70 minutes of Superman and Doomsday fighting each other, it would get boring after a while without an actual plot. It also wouldn't make any sense. How could two opponents battle for so long and hit the other opponent many times before one of them loses?

One thing that I hate about some fight scenes in movies, is when two opponents hit each other with direct hits several times but they are both still standing. It is dumb because if you hit someone with a nice direct hit once in a vital point, you could knock them down. So, if you watch a movie where two opponents hit each other hundreds of times in a vital area with a direct hit and they are still standing, then that is quite silly.

People might argue that since Superman and Doomsday are billions of times tougher than any human, they should be able to take a hit better. Their bodies may be a billions of times tougher than any human but that also means that they hit each other billions of times harder. That means that when they hit each other, it should cause as much damage to their opponent, as a human hitting another human.

Superman and Doomsday appear to be evenly matched. So, if Superman hit Doomsday with three direct stikes to his face, or vice versa, then that should knock him down. If these two are fighting each other without holding back, the fight should not last more than a few minutes.
