I know Zack Snyder based the final fight in Man of Steel on the Anime Birdy the Mighty (aka Tetsuwan Birdy)...

... But I get the feeling he may have seen Superman/Doomsday as well. The manner of the destruction of Metropolis in both the Doomsday fight and the clone fight reminded me a lot of the climax of MoS.
