'The Snowiest Ride' Episode

Has anyone else watched this particular episode and thought that the Chinese word for "snow" which they repeat over and over again, has a very similar sound to the English "S" word - the slang term for "pooh-pooh"??? My husband and I were cooking and had this on in the background for our baby daughter, and we suddenly looked up and said "did they really just say THAT???"

This episode aired last week. If you happen to catch it and agree, let me know. If not, maybe my husband and I are just crazy.

actually it was the word for thank you and its pronounced (shieh shieh)

~You shut the hell up, Jackie-Boy. You're dead. I'm just imagining this, so shut the hell up~

I don't think so... They kept saying "the hill is covered with _____" or "Lulu likes to play in ________" and "Lulu has a bucket full of ________"

reply

Please don't be so childish. You remind me of the dopes on Youtube who centered a video around it.

The word is "Xue" , and pronounced "shui"

Why would there be a cuss word in Chinese, that is English?

kittd82, you are a moron. It DOES sound like they're saying sh*t over and over again. If you can't hear the similarities, then you are deaf.

People aren't being childish, they're just calling it out because everyone is hearing that. And thanks for the lesson in Chinese, but we don't care.

And I see one of the dopes from Youtube has posted.

The only moron here is you, if you can't make a distinction between Chinese pronunciation and an English word that has "T" in it.

Now now children...

I agree that it was also my first impression upon hearing it. I don't think it is exactly uncommon to hear like-words when listening to a foreign language being spoken. How Kai-lan says hello sounds like meow. Every time Lulu said shie... I waited for the t sound to close it when she would giggle and made me wonder if she was trying to play with my head like that lol...

Your husband and you aren't alone Andrea, nor crazy, though I think at least one person replying here needs to switch to decaf :D
