I remember the hitchhiker program where the guy walked along the road narrating the segments. It was kind of like Tales from the Darkside, little shorts of strange stories.

Exactly what the world needs, a ripoff of a remake of a great calssic horror film that never should've been remade in the first place.

I don't like remakes either, so when asked to make a "tie-in" film, I try and make it as different from the studio film as possible.
