I think ja'mie just made the pronounciation and apostrophe up. During the scene where her mom was talking to the teacher, she pronounced her name as jamie.
Do you have to process every joke by writing it out in question form?
shareDefinitely made up. i think her friends are the only ones call her that. Although, i'm surprised she doesn't "correct" other people when they call her jamie.
shareHere in the U.S. there's an old English show called Keeping UP Appearances that is aired on PBS, and the main character's name is Hyacinth Bucket, but she likes for everyone to pronounce her last name as Bouquet. Similar thing with Ja'mie. :-)
