Was anyone else touched by this scene?

I loved the series and thought it was incredibly funny and believable, but one scene in paticular moved me.

Jonah's scene before the play in the final episode after he's just been expelled, only instead of going to clear out his locker he goes back to the Gumnut College. I figure it was his way of trying to show the school how to help in the only way he knew how, and even then it might of been subconsciously, and go back to the one place he felt might make a difference, where he might learn.

Maybe due to kind of similar school experiences with Jonah this scene touched me, and I just wondered what everyone else made of it.
Summer Hights High and Jonah FTW.

I was so sad when Jonah had to leave, especially when he got dragged away.

Give me rampant intellectualism as a coping mechanism.

Totally agree. He achieved there, it was the only good thing going on in his life and when he thanks Mrs Palmer at the end it shows that given more attention and love he could've achieved (relatively) great things. The school were right to expel him for what he said to Miss Wheatley, but she should also be looking closely at her conscience for what she did to him.

I loved Mrs Palmer- reminds me of every school SENCO I've ever met!

Ive seen this scene a couple of times now and I still cry.
Its funny how even though you know its a pisstake you still get emotionally attached.

OMG! We hit a boot!!! Wheres the foot???!!!

Yeah, it's a great scene. All the Jonah scenes in the last episode are amazing.

Agreed.
I even sob when Celine "dies". Mr G is such an narcissistic *beep* but in this scene he shows emotion and sadness and I actually pity him.
Chris Lilley is a genius!

Yeah the scene where he was being dragged away was really intense for a comedy!

I, too, have watched this scene several times and each time, I cry like a baby. Maybe because I have known so many kids like Jonah who just need a bit of understanding and caring.

What really got me was when Jonah was being dragged out of Gumnut Cottage and Mrs. Palmer says to him "Try to be strong" and Leon tells him to "just go". The hurt and concern in Leon's face was so heartbreaking.

this show took a hard left for me with Jonah in the last episode.
when Ms. Wheatley screams at him and degrades him in front of the class, horrible.
he was a problem student, but she should have handled herself better.

i KNOWW it's just a comedy show... but that upset me. i just wanted to hug him and let him stay in Gumnut Cottage for all of his schooling. boo. :(

I've worked with some real a$$holes in my life, but I'll always feel bad for them when their dog dies. The Celine bit captured that perfectly with Mr. G just wanting to go on with the show while obviously devastated - finally breaking down and hugging his only friend. The haunting "School these days" song intercut with students offering condolences just added to it. Lilley is amazing.
