So did anyone watch this thing?

Hmm, how sad people were more interested in seeing Britney Spears waddle around rather than hear about these soldiers.

the truth is shows like this depress people. makes them see how cruel and violent the world is....why would someone want to watch that? People would rather watch things that get their mind off of the war, disease and death....like watching britney spears waddle around.

Well for one, I don't care what Britney Spears is doing. Two, I tuned in to this documentary by mistake, and I got glued on it! It was compelling to hear this veteran's stories. My heart goes out for them and their family, and all US Soldiers fighting overseas! God Bless them, and I want them to return home safely.

I watched this documentary twice and it was emotional for my husband and I. My husband just recently got back from Iraq. He told me that while he was there they'd haul the trucks that were hit and cut in half or blown beyond recognition and "when you saw them you knew...well, you just knew."

Then of course I think of all those folks who were sitting at home, watching television or getting ready for bed who got that knock at the door which brought them to their knees.

It doesn't matter whether any of us believe in the war or the path the government took to get to this point, what matters is the families that are ruined, the bodies that are broken and the children left behind that will learn about their parents through pictures.

And at least a 100 times more victims among Iraqi civilians than American soldiers. Let's not forget about them, not that many Americans could give a crap.

Did I say there wasn't? Not in one part of my post did I imply that I was speaking about Americans only.

If you want to get technical there are more than just Americans and Iraqi's dying over there. There are many nationalities involved in these wars and lives have been lost on all sides.

I wasn't criticizing you.

This just ran again on late night HBO.
I'm glad I had a chance to catch it.
There is much to be learned about the reality of the troops there face.
At the same time, I always find it inspiring to hear stories of people who have discovered the value of being alive. Facing death is one of those paths.
