Think before you post/vote!

Yes, I'm part of this production. And proud to be. Yes, I am passionately involved in the film industry - indie and otherwise. Nonetheless...

I have some friends who were recently privy to a conversation in Orlando where several people boasted of, purposefully, writing scathing reviews of this film and trying to pull the "user vote" status down as far as possible. What a reckless, irresponsible, not mention thoughtless, act.

If these people are, indeed, part of the industry; as they claimed to be, they clearly don't get it.

Success leads to success. For everyone involved - industry wide. Simple.

If you truly disliked the film, that's cool. No film appeals to everyone.

But, if you participate in some sort of game or scam to discredit a film and its makers as some sort of revenge or act of jealousy, you're hurting everyone including yourself.

The objective is to attract other filmmakers to the region. Let them know that quality exists in your area and that good films come from your neighborhood. At a time when the indies are dying a quick and painful death, we all need to be more conscious of our objectives, motives and actions. Don't lie, but don't wage a battle in your own backyard, either.

I am proud to have had the opportunity to work in the industry since 1984, first in theatre and corporate entertainment before finding opportunities to work with filmmakers. I am certainly a work in progress, but I'm truly grateful for the work and the trust those filmmakers have placed on me. Therefore, I think it is critical to nurture and grow the industry whenever and wherever possible.

Regardless of your feelings, I appreciate your watching and participating in the life of "Second Coming" and I hope you'll continue to support Indie Film.

Best,
Greg Thompson

Think Again My Friend, This Has been done to Thousands of Movies New and Old.
One of the legal conspiracies to try and sway a viewer by votes cast. A true movie goer/watcher such as my self, will still rent/see a movie because of it's Plot or Genre. Most Movies i've watched have low ratings...Yet, I enjoyed them. They were entertaining and that is what I vote on. So. Boycott the sight...
just remember! "Turn aound is ALWAYS fair play!"

Actually the highest percentage of votes have given the movie 10/10 so it would seem any vote-rigging and skullduggery comes mostly from your own production team and cast rather than the detractors who did vote you down although in not so great numbers as those who shilled for you.

this movie wasn't very good. actually it was pretty bad...and i watch pretty much every horror/thriller i find. This movie deserves a 3 at best..good quality production but the plot is horrible and the special effects are seemingly non-existent. The girls were attractive, a boob scene may have made it a 3.5....probably not.

Dear Greg

I'm not writing this to in any way insult you for working on this film. But I read this post before watching this film. I always like to browse these forums quickly to get an idea what to expect. Now let me put my experience to you this way.

Initially I felt sorry for you because I know that there are always some stupid a$$holes out there that get some sort of power trip or perverse s3xual gratification out of scoring every movie a 1. These users should be banned of this site. There are not many films that deserve such a score.

I also read through all the reviews after watching this film though and I must say that I get the feeling that a lot of the reviews were written by people trying to promote this film. Because seriously, this is not a 9-10 movie either. For a movie to be this good, it has to have such an effect on you that one needs to tell friends and colleagues about it. It has to make you want to watch it again. This movie does neither.

There are a lot of Ghost stories out there (I can remeber seeing about 6) that have the same sort of plot *Spoiler* (the Ghost actually not meaning harm but only wanting sone sort of help). I don't have a problem with the same basic plot being used for multiple movies but of all these that I saw, this one's the weakest. The acting (everyone's) was just amateurish, unbelievable, corny, clicheed. I don't know if the actors are just bad or if the script was just this bad.

The other aspects of the film were sort of ok but I struggled to stay interested for the whole duration. Thus I feel that the score on IMDB is pretty accurate. It's not as bad as a 1 but not more than a 3 to 4 either.

I realise that the budget wasn't there but I always maintain that if you can't afford super special effects or A-List actors, at least get an original story going and write a decent script. There was no (like some reviewer wrote) revelation in the end. There were no "ooooh" moments during the film. The movies just dragged on until the end.

I won't be watching it again, sorry.
