Steve....Michael Berryman here. You bet!! This film is solid and should create some great interest. I will go on the record again by saying this..." Thank you Tino. Thank you to the entire cast and crew. I loved working in the wind, rain, mud, and cold. The hospitality shown by Hans and his wife was incredible. To anyone reading this; if you are in this industry, I hope you get a chance to experience such fine people during filming. I have rarely met so many hard-working, artistic, human, funny and accomidating freinds as I have, during the filming of 'Brother's War'. Good freinds, good food, good wine and no wa-wa's. Love ya all!! Michael

Sorry mate, this flick was terrible, wooden acting ,cheesy + it shows so much that it is an zero budget C-film..I love WW2 films..I tought I would enjoy this movie,I knew it wouldnt be in the calibre as say Enemy of the gates or Saving private Ryan etc but sorry guys..you should have hired a decent military advisor and got the details right(even if that is not THAT important if the story is good and it sucks you in from the beginning, wich it failed to do here)..
But that even more draws attention to the flawed script and cheesy action sequences,it looked like a bad film student film at the worst, and a really good one at the best..some of the action was over the top and seemingly copied from some 30 year old John Wayne movie,NO realism whatsoever(THE ALLIES CANT FIND OUT OUR EVIL PLAN MUHAHAHAHA!)I mean come on! the British guy talked with a horrible phony accent,I could keep on listing things but I digress.
You shoud have tried harder, much harder, taken your time with the script and not relied on predictable cliches..and tried to actually research the subject matter..
Are you on some personal quest to be the new Uwe Boll?

well one thing was good: the score, but it seemed so out of place in this movie that it only served to make it more cheesy.

I hope you dont expect to make any money on this film,I watched it online and I had to watch it in turns(turn it off ,take a break, then turn it on again..repeat..) If this is the kind of movies you are gonna be making:please stop making movies and find a day job,if not please do the job properly..

I mean c'mon! tagline reads "Enemy of the gates meets the man who wanted to be king" LOL dont promise what you cant deliver..

The "British Guy" was played by a british actor, and the character was meant to have an Oxford accent. Perhaps the accent was perfect and we are lucky you digressed.

I know this movie will be a GREAT hit for many good reasons WWII History, Freemasons, National Treasure, Secrets, etc!
So when will it be released?
Where can I see it?
When can I buy the DVD?
Hiram it has been since Feb 25, 2007 - why does it take so long?

Unfortunately not a GREAT hit. To be able to even start on the history / secrets side you have to hope that the person watching does not turn off after 30 mins, which is what i did as it was awful.
So when will it be released? - May 09
Where can I see it? - At home maybe?
When can I buy the DVD? - Probably at a petrol garage.

Come on then, did you work on this film?

I appreciate that people want to build up their movie and I was really looking forward to this film due to the events that was to be included but it was such a let down.

I just watched it straight through and enjoyed it. Of course, as a Freemason, that colored my view of the film. It wasn't the M.W.W.B.K, but a good film with a Masonic thread throughout, and one that treated the Fraternity in an even-handed manner.

I'm with you. I know it has a bad rating than it should because everyone thinks movie is based on an fake "Russian secret" storyline. For sake, we enjoy comic superman/batman movies more, but no one saying it's FAKE. This one beats them for sure. Rating 8 from me.

reply

it aint about fake or not, its about acting, scriptwriting and such, if you deliver that you can come up with what story ever and make a decent movie from it, but if you dont...well you get the rating you deserve.
I give this 2 out of 10 for the effort.

I turned this movie off after the first 15 minutes and than I returned it, such a waste of a dollar.

LOL same thing happend at my house. Lemme guess. Redbox?

The movie was put in and everyone got bored with it. I started reading an instruction manual and every now and then looking at the TV. I remember laughing when the "Germans" called the Russian tanks "Panzers".

Anyway everyone in the room was doing something else while this movie was playing. Someone accidently sat on the remote shutting the movie off. They apologized and started to turn it back on when I said, "Nah, don't worry about it. No one cares."

Panzer is the German word for tank, you should feel rather silly about that comment.

reply

Well, panzer being the German word for tanks, they called all tanks panzers. Just like in the US army we called German panzers 'tanks'.

I recognise that a lot of effort and work went into making this film, but it really fell short of my expectations. Sure, I wasn't expect the sort of action or pace of something like Band of Brothers or whatever, but even the story/plot (the obvious strength of an indie film) was fairly flimsy. I was somewhat hoping that the Freemason angle was expanded upon more, rather than the two or three fairly brief scenes that were spent on it.

What probably bugged me the most though was the music. It seemed to have hastily been edited in, mostly at inappropriate moments; you get the feeling in some scenes that you are supposed to focus on facial expressions and the mood they convey, but then they go and drop the Soviet-themed choral pieces right on top them, which would be more appropriately used in epic battle scenes.

This thread is the funniest thing I have ever seen on this website. Are you *beep* kidding me? There is this handful of people here who worked on the "film" or enjoyed it, and they're actually defending this garbage like it doesn't deserve the *beep* it is getting. It has to be a joke. I suppose they must be one of the 41 people who voted this movie a PERFECT 10. I guess to save it from being rated in the lower 1s? LMAO

I watched the entire movie and would like to invite the first two first gentleman to take a trip from the land of the deaf and blind they must be from, to my house where I will rip their testicles off with my bare hands. Thank you and good day.

"I watched the entire movie"

Omg, You must have a cast iron stomach. I would hate to try and drink you under the table

I have to be honest, this was probably the worst film I have ever seen in my life. My Dad lent it to me and said that he wanted to know what I thought of it, so from here I was actually expecting a really good film, maybe like Max Manus (I had never heard of Brother's War before). So I stick it on and get around 30 minutes in before I realised that it wasn't going to get better, and I was right. In fact, it got considerably worse. The only reason I watched it the whole way through was to see just how ridiculous the film got, and lucky I did because there was a real treat waiting for me at the end, probably the most I have ever laughed at a film (when the Russian commander had the sniper rifle). I actually watched it again that day, this time showing my brother, just so I could see his reactions. I'm sorry to be so harsh, but I honestly do believe that a dead monkey would manage to make something better than this. Did you write the script, film and edit it all in one day? Even if you did that I would still be surprised that it went this badly.
